Joel 2:12-13

Come back to me with all your heart, fasting, weeping, mourning. Let your hearts be broken, not your garments torn, turn to the Lord your God again, for he is all tenderness and compassion, slow to anger, rich in graciousness, and ready to relent.

Lent Day 6

This reading is from todays morning prayer.  It certainly leaves me with something to ponder today.  I truly want what this reading has to offer but it is such a slow walk!  It reminds me of our call to live in this world but not of it!  So easy to say!

Have a blessed day!

Romans 12:1-2

Think of God’s mercy, my brothers, and worship him, I beg you, in a way that is worthy of thinking beings, by offering your living bodies as a holy sacrifice, truly pleasing to God. Do not model yourselves on the behaviour of the world around you, but let your behaviour change, modelled by your new mind. This is the only way to discover the will of God and know what is good, what it is that God wants, what is the perfect thing to do.

Advent and Christmas links

We have truly enjoyed our advent this year!  We spent the last month preparing our hearts and souls by learning more about our faith and traditions.  One way we have done this is using these faith folders.  I just saw on another favorite blog that Lindy now has a 12 days of Christmas faith folder.  I know what is on my list to buy today :)

Our creche adventure.

Pa goose led the way on a wonderful craft project this year.  It was such a wonderful way to pass faith onto the children and really spend some quality time together this advent.

It started with a strange call from pa…”how much money can I spend at the craft store???”  To be honest I wasn’t quite sure who was on the other end of the line!!!  He had done some research and wanted to create a more elaborate nativity this year after a suggestion from a priest friend and several catechists.

He came home with bags full of goodies and the crafting began!  We all had great fun painting,  creating paper mache mountains and getting messy.

The end result!
